Over the past several years, the Ewing High School softball program has emerged as one of the stronger programs in the state, and this past month three senior standouts who have been a large part of the program’s success solidified their college commitments.

Senior pitcher/shortstop Danielle Rinaldi signed with Wesleyan University, where she will pitch for the Cardinals.  Rinaldi is an outstanding student who was a Trentonian 2nd Team All-Colonial Valley Conference Second Team and 3rd Team All-Area performer for the Blue Devils.

Senior third baseman Alexis Pope, one of the top sluggers in the area, committed to continue her softball career as a student-athlete at Rochester University.  Also an excellent student, Pope was a Trentonian 1st Team All-CVC and 2nd Team All-Area selection and named to The Trenton Times 1st team All-Area squad.  Pope is projected to continue her stellar hot corner play for the Yellow Jackets.

Catcher/Shortstop Kourtney Schneider, a vocal field leader for the Blue Devils, has committed to play softball for Penn State-Abington.  Joining her teammates in achieving both in the classroom and in the athletic arena, Schneider is slated to be a catcher for the Nittany Lions.

“We are very proud of these outstanding student-athletes,” Athletic Director Bud Kowal commented. “They are exemplary ambassadors of Ewing High School who are destined for future academic and athletic success.”
