Antheil's Color Cycle Recycling Initiative
The markers have been collected and counted. The total number is.... 1,424 markers!! That is more than double the amount collected in December. Not only are we keeping all those markers out of landfills, we are recycling them to create a clean fuel that can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!
To put everything in perspective, one box of eight markers can create enough energy to cook one egg, make toast, and heat up two cups of hot chocolate. Think of all that clean fuel you helped make available! Way to go, Antheil!
A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Flannigan's class for counting over a thousand markers. And of course, thank you to all the teachers and students who helped participate in our recycling event. This is a wonderful way for us to come together as a community and become involved in eco-friendly practices.
