Reading with the Detectives

On Thursday, March 2nd Antheil School had a wonderful surprise for Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Five officers from Mercer County’s Prosecutors Office came to read to our students. Among them were Chief of Detectives Veldon Harris, Sergeant Natisha Clark, and Detectives Shari Johnson, Elijah Phillips and Ronald Stinson. Not only did these officers share stories with the classes, but also words of encouragement to keep reading and excelling in school. The students responded well with enthusiasm and many questions for our visiting officers! Pictured above, are some of Miss Sabatino’s first grade students with Chief of Detectives Veldon Harris, who made a lasting impression on his new friends! Antheil would like to thank these wonderful officers for volunteering their time to come and encourage and inspire our students. It is in unanimous spirit when we say you are always welcome back!
