At an assembly in February select students of Parkway Elementary School were asked to speak about youthful dreams and how to achieve them. This theme was continued throughout the month during Unity and other classroom activities. It is our goal at PES to use our 4RC character traits (Ready, Responsible, Respectful, Resourceful and Cooperation) to help us all achieve our dreams. With over 150 parents and students in attendance Parkway School had another successful Pajama Reading Night. The evening’s events included acknowledging students who have already achieved their yearlong Parkway Panther Book Club goal and interactive storytelling featuring fourth grade teacher Eric Thomas.
Mrs. Cline’s second grade class hosted a special event to thank Ewing’s police and firefighters. A Celebration of Heroes featured students performing short plays, special bracelets made by the students, and a photo area featuring student-made props. Everyone had a great time!
During the school's lunch periods, the kindergarteners made and served lemonade with the help of parent volunteers. Donations of $308.48 will benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand in honor of Pediatice Cancer.
