ANTHEIL DOES IT AGAIN!

6^th in the World!!

For the fourth year one of Antheil’s Odyssey of the Mind teams has gone to the World Competition and for the third consecutive year, placed in the top eight teams. This year they placed 6^th in the World Competition in the Nature Trailer problem against 50 competing teams in their age category.

The world competition was held at Michigan State University. At Worlds, each state is represented, in addition to approximately 30 countries from around the world. Students lived on campus and spent their time meeting and getting to know students from other parts of our country and all over the world.

Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem solving format. Grades Kindergarten through college are eligible to join the fun. Each category competes with students of the same age level. Every year Odyssey of the Mind publishes new problems from which each team selects one and works to solve. This year’s Primary problem is “Surprise Party”. Our three competing teams will choose from “Nature Trail’R”, “Return to the Gift of Flight”, “Discovered Treasures”, “Column Structure”, or “Food Court”.

Our Odyssey of the Mind Parent Group is headed by Mr. and Mrs. Scott Franks who are extremely supportive helpers and fund raisers.
